Essential Supplies for Medical Students
Sometimes it's hard to know what you need. Here is list of things to make your life easier
General Study Tools
Apple MacBook Air: In our humble opinion, the best medical school laptop with phenomenal battery life (12-16 hours), extremely quick start-up (2/2 its flash memory), ability to run multiple programs seamlessly (2/2 RAM and flash memory), razer-thin form factor, and hard-to-break design (no moving parts—no optical hard-drive).
Book Stand: To prop your textbooks next to your laptop while you take notes
Pilot Precise V5 Pens: Objectively, the best pen on the market. This model has a retractable tip cause who wants to deal with caps.
AmazonBasics Highlighters: Cheaper than Sharpies and work just as well.
Moleskine 5 x 8.25 inch notebook: Elegant with great paper stock in a beautifully hard-bound package. Also have an extra large version (7.5 x 9.5) hard cover version.
3 x 5 inch index cards: Notes, flashcards, you name it.
Avery 3 inch Binder: Heavy duty and 3 inches wide to carry all those handouts you'll be getting.
Portable 3 hole punch: To put those handouts into your binder.
Sceptre 24 inch LED monitor: To add on a dual monitor to your laptop. Inexpensive, thin, attractive, reliable, and great screen quality.
Keyring iPhone Charger: A small iPhone USB charger that sits on your keychain ring. There's a micro-USB charger version as well. You'll be using your smartphone a lot; make sure it doesn't die on you.
Hydroflask 32oz Water Bottle: Vacuum sealed water bottle that will keep liquids cold for 24 hours and hot liquids hot for 6 hours. Stay hydrated.
Audiotechnica ATH m50x: Ask any audiophile, these are the best over-the-ear headphones you'll find for under $200. Easier on the eardrums than earbuds and comfortable to wear for long study sessions, a solid investment.
A self care gift to yourself: Luckily, everything here is under 20 dollars.
